I have heard a lot of people (including broadcasters) pronounce his last name as FARV, but the V is before the R. It looks to me like it would be pronounced Fav-ray. |

They have the youngest team in the NFL and came within one game of the Super Bowl. They only have one free agent to sign, so they will be even better next year. Plus Favre had his best season statistically this year.
He'll give it one more shot.

You'll hear the same letter rearranging when we say, for instance, Havre de Grace, MD. The French "r" is difficult to say and such words sound totally wrong with an American "r." |

"Farv", he said.
French or French-Canadian would be "Fav-ruh", with the emphasis on the "Fav", and the "ruh" kind of swallowed.
The family obviously subscribes to the " 'murrican " pronunciation.
