Brett Favre is just disrespectful.

For those who have not had enough of the drama, this shoud be enough for you for the rest of your life. You can stop reading the link after the second paragraph. It really shows how much respect he has for the Vikings org and the players as a whole. Why is this even ok?

Favre has proved he is still a quality quaterback and I don't blame the Vikings wanting him back. They simply need to plan for him to retire while hoping he returns, and ignore him when he starts talking trash. The coach and management should not respond publicly to anything he says until he says definitively whether he will retire or return.

This is just a different flavor of Favre off season. Nothing new and, to be fair, the Green Bay fans told you guys this was coming. Personally, I find it highly entertaining to watch him drag his feet and a team's future along for the ride every summer.

He's coming back. He knows it and the Vikings know it.

This is just his way of getting out of training camp and the Vikings was of "letting him".

big money sports have pretty much croaked any notion of player loyalty or anything else dreamed up in movies like rudy.....i am not sure why favre is considered any different than any other athlete with a commodity to sell.....

He's just trying to motivate his hometown college baseball team. Nothing to see here.

Yup, Mike, you're post-FAR-VUH in Slidell era, right?

Dude used to hang in Old Town...what a putz. Saw some pretty stupid and @$$inine stuff out of him during that time, my sister (who still lives there) saw even more out of him, his wife (who is also a piece of work) and his family. Next time I'm down to visit, if you're interested, I'll get her to come out for a beer with us to tell the tales...they're HYSTERICAL, and frightening.

Dude is a true talent on the field, despite his obviously P!$$-poor decision-making skills (hey, Brent, how 'bout you throw across your body, on the run, into double coverage, instead of running another 4-5 yards up the open field so we can kick a FG and go to the Super Bowl? Interception??? Why, how could THAT have happened??? As a Saints fan, Brent FAR-VUH will probably remain my 2nd favorite QB of all time for that one pass! ), and will deservedly end up in the HOF for his playing career.

His personal career however...

No, he's just trying to keep his name in the media.

Nothing "disrespectful" about it, but PATHETIC, yeah.

You gotta understand his mentality, he's all about HIMSELF. When he doesn't see his name at ESPN or Sports Illustrated for more than a week, he will ALWAYS do something to get it there.

Great player, pathetic human being.

I agree

he isn't going to plan his career around his old team--he was a pitcher before he was a quarterback and I would imagine still a baseball fan.

He'll be playing for the vikings for a few more years, and at the end of every year he'll talk about retiring, and every year he'll come back

the article is here really only because any hint that favre is leaving is instant sports news

Not even. This is the media scrounging for Favre news and putting anything out there they can to grab headlines.

The man didn't put it out in a press release or anything.
He didn't call a press conference with ESPN or SI.
From what the article indicates, he was at a practice or a meeting or something like that with his home town baseball team, and was probably either joking with them, or was trying to motivate them. Without seeing the rest of his remarks or a video of what he said there's no way to tell what his intentions were.

He should have left after the best toss of his career, in Championship OT to the Giant secondary.

I bet he'd make a good lead guitarist.
