Brinks Home Ridiculousness

Sign in to disble this ad
The nice fellas over at Brinks seem to be on an advertising kick lately, and I can't help but notice a few things about their commercials:

In every one of these commercials, the only people in the house are timid, scared women, who couldn't possibly do anything to defend themselves. They always freeze up and just scream. I mean sure, you'd be scared, but come on, a lady can shoot a gun too. And when they answer the call from the Brinks phone operator, it's always a big strong, fearless man who calms her down with one syllable of his manly voice.

The second thing that bothers me about these commercials is that the stereotypical black-clad burglars always run away as soon as they see the shaking lil' lady and hear the alarm. I've never robbed a house, but I imagine that if I did, I'd know how far it is from the police station, and figure I still had a few seconds to run in, grad some goodies and get out again.

Overall I just think these commercials are unrealistic and chuvanistic. Anyone else get that vibe?

these are pretty comical really.

Looking at the commercials, I want a dog instead of Brinks.
If they got a dog, they could save the:
running to a safe room,
and answering the phone call from the stoic Brinks hero,
who then has to notify authorities
who then have to radio a patrol car
who then has to get there.

They could just get a big ol' Rotty, feed it gunpowder and nails and watch it gnaw on a dismembered black-clad leg

I have "Brinks" written on an old Lousville Slugger... does that count?

Is is just me, or are all the 'bad guys' scruffy looking scrawny middle-aged white guys?

Brinks. Always there for you when the thief is at large.

I've heard that their Union gets them group discounts on hoodies and goatee trimmers.

Hahahaha

I'm so glad other people share my sense of humor. I didn't even pick up on the racial similarities of the robbers though, good call whoever pointed that out.

Dude, they're back. On daytime TV, you can still see them sometimes. And on some of the frames of the commercial, they still have the tagline in bold letters.

If they have tats, it sounds a lot like the scrawny middle aged
tweak heads that keep getting busted for 'stoopid' stuff in my fair city.

My grandma fell with one of those (she was in her mid-90s.) She pushed the button and pushed the button and pushed the button and...

... no one showed up for a day and a half until the neighbor got worried and came and found her.

I got into one helluva an argument with my dad and uncle about why they SHOULD sue the socks off those bastyds... dad and his bro are "old-school" and don't believe in "frivolous lawsuits"... normally I'd agree but that time I was PO'd!

Think of the silly backlash they'd get if they used a black man. Toolbags like Sharpton would have a field day!

man, I can completely imagine that... it would be entertaining television for people who don't have their heads firmly rooted in their fundaments, wouldn't it?

One of these renders Brinks obsolete:
