I was blown away by Bruno Mars last night, doing a nice Motown take during the show. Also some VERY tasty bass work (very Motown) by the backing group. Janelle Monae also did OK, but I thought Mars stole the whole routine.
The good stuff starts at 2:40 into this clip... http://www.prefixmag.com/news/janell...bruno-m/49350/
We could use a LOT more of this kind of music!

We could use a LOT more of this kind of music! | I liked the performance, but he was rather pitchy throughout the performance. side note, he was listed as one of the producers on Cee Lo Green's "the song otherwise known as 'forget you'".

Also, the amount of people who didn't know Arcade Fire was hilarious. ( whoisarcadefire.tumblr.com - there is vulgarity and obliviousness, both in large doses)

| | | | Janelle Monae is awesome. Her last album was top 5 of last year, IMO. She's like a female version of Outkast being backed by Funkadelic with some Prince stuff going on and James Brown dance moves |

My mother in law to be had the nerve to think that his single would be a good first dance at our wedding. NOT gonna happen.
