Just plugging the "POWER SW" connector such that the blue wire is connected to pin 6 and the white wire is connected to pin 8 should allow your computer to turn on.

HDD LED connects between pins 1 and 3.
POWER LED pins 2 and 4.

I believe RESET SW goes between 7 and 9.

If any of the LEDs fail to light, flip the connectors around.

Hope this helps.

And..... it wont turn on. Any other ideas of what might be wrong? I swapped the power supply, and that didnt do anything, the wires from the power supply are plugged in correctly...?

I built my own computer quite a while back, so things are kinda fuzzy. I'm assuming you know enough computer stuff to build your own computer, but not really to troubleshoot stuff, ie. around my level.

Try checking all the power supply connections. There might be more than one cable running to the motherboard, especially if it's a new one. There's also a way to test if your power supply is working, but i forgot which pins to short out.

Have you isolated the problem to the front panel and it's connection to the mobo?

Use a screwdriver to short pins 6 and 8 and see if it turns on, that'll at least rule out the switch. Unplug everything except the motherboard's power connections and try it then.

My roommate got a new motherboard and had the same problem, we eventually took it out of the case and set in on the antistatic bag it came it, hooked up the power, and it started up fine. Put it back in and everything is running great; I guess it was shorting on the case somewhere. Keep that in mind if you're still having problems.
