It's funny, because as long as I've been here in San-Diego, I've had at least three guns in my room (up to ten now) at least one revolver, rifle, and a cannon. Ever since people started buying Call of Duty over here, it's the hot ****. Makes me angry a little bit, maybe just because I feel people should spend time trying to learn to shoot a real gun. It's gotten even worse with Battlefield. I'll walk down the hall to the laundry room and hear two or three people banging on the ****** controllers that come with it to the PS3 and 360 on there. This probably angers me because I can never meet a shooter here, but as stated before. Ya'lls opinion?

Isn't this the same as that Guitar hero thread? Eerily similar... Its a game. as long as they don't mix reality with their game. Etc.

But guns aren't toys, and I guess laws come in, where there's no laws against guitar.

I know in the States you can carry a gun around, but I don't think you're allowed a semi automatic gun here ? I don't even think you are allow a pistol... other than hunting guns, but then there's also a bunch of rules against 'em !

Depends on the particular state you're living in. I live in NJ and it's pretty darn strict here in regards to gun laws. A whole different world when compared with Texas for example.

But in regards to the OP, I know what you mean I guess (if I'm understanding your point).
I've had friends who assumed that they could shoot a real gun based on the video games they've played and such. It was great to see them shoot something real. Can you say RECOIL?

haha I remember the first time I shot a gun...

The first one was of big caliber, it was for moose hunting, I couldn't get to shoot right handed.. it was okay and fun... but when the 12 round came around the table

Oh I just got it.

You can't be starting parody threads when I haven't seen the original.

Why are you parodying a thread that wasn't worth while?

The Call of Duty series are great on the next-gen systems, not so much for the PS2/GCN/X-Box (original) versions. Battlefield is good too.

Seems highly unfriendly for you to do, sir. I was trying to have a legitimate conversation about the whole guitar hero fad. I'm sorry that I haven't been a member of this board long and that this conversation may have occurred before. Wasn't looking to get made fun of by a bunch of strangers hiding behind their computers. I guess that makes this one less board where you can have such a conversation.

This is TalkBass. Where people like to **** on you for no apparent reason and the "regulars" get treated better then the "non-regulars". Also the place where mods like to give you infractions but you PM them back and they never respond.

Ahhhhh... the glories of TalkBass!

I shoot and play call of duty. Call of duty is cheaper to play seeing as its almost a buck a round for rifle ammo here, at least .303 is sorta cheap .

I don't get to run around shooting germans and winning WWII in real life.

I really don't see the comparison.

I started reading that without seeing the username and thought that sounded a bit familiar.

regarding the thread, the call of duty/battlefield has the outlet for competition and a safe outlet for violence unlike actual shooting, in COD you can kind of get all that out and everybody comes out of it with the important stuff they went in with like, you know, a head.
