Calling all country fans... help me identify a song

Sign in to disble this ad
I've heard this song on the local country station a couple times, and I'm trying to find out what it's called. I can't really remember any of the lyrics, but here's the gist of it:

The narrator's talking about how his significant other is getting hit on by some other guy or something and he's afraid that she's going to fall for him, but she doesn't think so... then the setting fast-forwards into the future and the narrator is single, and his S.O. DID fall for the guy. And the narrator's lamenting about how he was right all along, and he keeps repeating a line that's like "I'm right" or "I was right" or something.

Anybody have any idea what I'm talking about? I've been trying to google it up using bits and pieces of lyrics that I vaguely remember, but I'm not getting anything. Can anyone tell from my description what song I'm talking about? I sure can't. Thanks!

Its not that bad really. I like some of it, only a few songs are truly untolerable, and I like working at any radio station.

Its on the radio. If I'm listening to my own music, its usually Eric Marienthal or various choir music I've played for.

I sort of backed into appreciating country music. I like Folk music for the seriously high level writing. But most folk artists can't make much in the way of money.

So a few of the Folk folks sell some of their songs to country artists who get huge hits with them, and then the folk artists can pay off their houses. Yay.

I guess I shouldn't cringe the way I used to at country now, because current country basically IS the middle of the road rock of my youth, only twangy.

Seriously. Listen to Hotel California. Then listen to a current country station. Scary, isn't it?

I like country and that is what I plan on doing most in my band. I enjoy all genres of music tho..but I learned a lot of country songs on my bass.
