Cameramen for Discovery type shows?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've always been curious when there's a special on a guy survival in the jungle for a week. Some of them he films all of it himself but many of them seem to have him with a camera crew. My question is who does this? Good pay? Aren't doing twice what the guy on the camera has to do? Watching out for dangerous animals/plants/etc... and holding a heavy piece of equipment?

Twice the work, but does it matter? you arent in the limelight = not getting the pay.

One of the shows is real where he tapes himself but the other guy sleeps in hotels and "re-enacts" the survival. Wussy.

There is a guy called bear grylls who has a camera crew and its a survival programme where he supposedly spends a week surviving in some sort of urvival situation, and aparantly whenever he is eating an animal or killing one or something, they bring one in specially and he spends the nights in hotels, so i dont think there is actually THAT much danger involved as people make out to be.

I have no idea what they are paying that guy but what ever it is, it isn't enough.
