Does that even consider "camping"?

I sleep in my jeep, it's nice and comfy.

I might need to get a tent though because i found it's rough having another person in the jeep... and doing things... Still not bad, but a little extension on the back-gate wouldn't hurt... Little extension for my feel...

I think I'd still rather have one of them Fleetwood pop-up jobbies.

That looks like luxury in comparison with my last camping trip, there were 6 of us in one large tent, which was fine, but it rained so much that the insides kind of ended up a grassy, muddy mess. That said, climbing Helvelyn made it all worth it.

Next time I don't want to go unless there is a bit more tent space, and maybe some kind of drying device.

Given that a "jobby" is Scottish slang for a turd, I'm not sure I'd want one anywhere near my tent!

Camping?

Civil War command posts were smaller than that thing.

PSH! It's not camping if you're not in a tent.

Pretty cool, but sorta unnecessary? Not to knock people who do the ol' RV thing, but give me a tent and a ton of warm blankets/sleeping bags/clothes any day.

I have thought about a pop up a few times. Sure seems like a good compromise between really ruffing it and the local hotel. Some of those things are really nice too! I say go for it!

I've been known to pitch a tent every now and then.

**sigh** I'm getting old. My idea of "roughing it" is thin towels and small soap.

I middle clicked my mouse to that link, opening a new tab in the background. When I eventually moused over to that tab, I almost spewed beer on the ol' flatscreen. I laughed out loud for 10 full seconds.

It definitely could be cool, but it looks a little goofy. Definitely not what I was expecting...

So, what color scheme?

My dad saw those at the SHOT show in Vegas a couple of years ago. They are pretty cool, but from what I recall he was saying that they were in the neighbourhood of $20k. They are nice looking units though.

20k? You could get a really nice camper for that price to haul, if you're interested in hauling something. Me? The only things I take camping is booze, an axe and meat. As long as I've got those, I'm warm, full and cozy. "B.A.M."

I've camped and ROUGHED it all my life. Backpacked with a sleeping bag and tarp, etc., etc.,.............

These days I just want to get away with as many comforts of home as I can bring along. Besides, camping in FL with no AC SUCKS most of the year. We would use it for going to paintball tournaments, the beach and Jeep events. Gotta have the shower and AC!! So, I shouldn't have called it "camping"

I'm with ya buddy. I'm over the tent thing. I've been doing it for years. I'm kind of sniffing around for a tent trailer.

We will probably end up with motorcycle trailer/camper but I like the idea of the tent trailer. They have lots of space, and add on space protected from the weather for 4 wheelers, gear, people, etc.
