Can I get my hardrive re-booted? Blade Runner content

Ever feel like Buster Keaton in a Blade Runner world? I'm just asking.

I've always meant to see that movie, but never got around to it.

Of all the reasons I have wished I would've seen it, none trump right now and my failure to get your reference.

simplilcity verses complexity, thinking I have things at least kind of figured out and WHAM! my undertanding is shattered by a large meteorite of "what the ... ?"
Mostly I just like the image of Buster Keaton in a Blade Runner world.

If you shut down/turn off your computer, your HD will reboot automagically.

Do you mean having the operating system reinstalled?

Are you just messing with me or did you not read the OP? Now I really feel like Buster Keaton.

I've added Blade Runner content to the title. Maybe that will help there are a lot of Blade Runner fans here.

Do eeet!

I don't want to overhype it or anything, but personally, it's one of my favourite films ever.

Think of the look on Buster Keaton's face as he watches Darryl Hannah cartwheel towards him.

You guys who haven't seen Blade Runner, I encourage you to watch it, especially if you like Sci Fi. I have two caveats, however: First, it is one of the most imitated movies ever made in terms of its visuals. It's been ripped of by decades of other movies, music videos, and TV commercials. As a result, it will look familiar or even stale to you now, but try to remember that it was groundbreaking at the time (1982). Second, don't think too hard about the story. Just watch and enjoy.

(I seem to be posting a lot today. Slow day at work.)

And if you do go read the book, remember its called "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" and not Blade Runner. And yes, he's talking about your phone.

"Phillip K. Dick-head", I like that

That title is correct - but also realize that the plot line which was used to create Blade Runner (one of my favorite SF films, and a real classic) is a sideline topic that's only about one-third of the plot of the book. The book itself is about a much broader concept and there are other plot lines which dominate it.

Still - the Dick novel is well worth reading..even if it's a bit depressing. Its vision of the future gives the reader pause.
