Of all the reasons I have wished I would've seen it, none trump right now and my failure to get your reference. |

Mostly I just like the image of Buster Keaton in a Blade Runner world.

Do you mean having the operating system reinstalled? |

Do you mean having the operating system reinstalled? | Are you just messing with me or did you not read the OP? Now I really feel like Buster Keaton.

I don't want to overhype it or anything, but personally, it's one of my favourite films ever.

I have two caveats, however: First, it is one of the most imitated movies ever made in terms of its visuals. It's been ripped of by decades of other movies, music videos, and TV commercials. As a result, it will look familiar or even stale to you now, but try to remember that it was groundbreaking at the time (1982). Second, don't think too hard about the story. Just watch and enjoy.

"Phillip K. Dick-head", I like that | That title is correct - but also realize that the plot line which was used to create Blade Runner (one of my favorite SF films, and a real classic) is a sideline topic that's only about one-third of the plot of the book. The book itself is about a much broader concept and there are other plot lines which dominate it.
Still - the Dick novel is well worth reading..even if it's a bit depressing. Its vision of the future gives the reader pause.
