I started shooting videos as a new hobby and I am not sure which video editing software should I get, I bought a HD Camcorder and a desktop but I still confused on what software is the best for me, I have narrowed it to:
- Adobe Element Premiere 10
- Ciber link power director
- Corel Pro X4
User reviews are mostly the same for all three: either they suck or they are great. Magazines reviews said all three are fantastic. Does somebody here with experience on any of these software that can give me a recommendation, I will be editing home videos I dont need a pro software but I dont want a basic one neither. If it matters, my camcorder is a Cannon Vixia HF Full HD and my desktop specs are: Intel i5 core @ 3.00GHz, 6GB DDR3 ( can upgrade till 16GB) , 1TB Hardrive and NVIDIA GeForce with 1GB discrete video memory. |

There's going to be a lot more assistance out there for it in the ways of how-to's and such. When I switched to shooting HD video i just broke down and got a Mac , best thing I have ever done.
Peace,
Greg

I did use Sony Vegas for years before though. It is probably easier to use, especially for simple stuff.

I use whatever I'm paid too, Final Cut, AVID, Premiere Pro, Vegas..etc...

If you can upgrade to Premiere Pro, do it. Chances are that Final Cut is WAY too much money.
