K, so I went bowling with my woman and some friends last night. For the life of me, niether my friend nor I could figure out how the scoring system works. I know that 300 is a perfect score, but how does one get 300 points from 10 frames? My fiancee got 3 strikes in a row, for the first one she was given like 30 points. For the second, something like 21, and for the third only 11. We couldnt recognize any sort of pattern to make out how one gets to 300. Im sure there is someone here who is more informed than we...?

A strike is worth 10 plus the points from your next two rolls.
So if you followed a strike with two gutterballs you'd get a 10 for your first frame and zero for your second.
If you knocked down 5 pins and then 3 you'd get 18 points for your first frame plus 8 for your second for a total of 26.
But if you rolled three straight strikes, you'd get a 30 for your first frame, 20 plus whatever you got on your next roll for your second frame and 10 plus whatever you got on your next two rolls on your third frame.
So if you bowled nothing but strikes you'd get 30 plus 30 plus 30 etc.
It's why you get one extra roll in the 10th frame after a strike. You have to see what you're adding to it. |

His name is Chris Diggins, he works there.

Being 6'2" and 200 lbs I can throw bowling balls.

Once there was some mean old lady there who wouldn't do it, I failed miserably with about 50% gutter balls.
A fun game is too see how many times you can bounce it off the guard rails before it gets to the end and still take out at least 5 pins.
