Can this video help launch Ernie

Ernie and the Automatics is a new band .. with an old style. They're line up consists of members of ULTRA AWESOME band Boston and Return to Zero. Its hard to say if there is a place for them .. in the midst of all the Fall Out Boys and Katy Perrys but their music is actually really good .. and I just got an e-mail from their fan club about their new single and video for The good times never last.

Heres the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GCk7QqhsD8 it's a pretty weird fun video .. reminiscent of old Boston stuff .. What do you think of this band .. think they can make it ..

You mean Ernie Boch the car dealership owners' band? , they put on a good show, it's crowd pleaser bar music...I dunno about "make it" in the "bigtime" sense, but that's their definition...I don't think the video does them any favors in that regard, but it's an *ok* video.

Are you their bass player?

As a friend of Brian Maes (and not his bass player...dammit!), I have nothing objective to say, but I'll say something anyway: these guys are the real deal. Bri is one of the nicest people on the planet (which is saying something, considering he is a Berk...
...lee grad and a helluva keys player), and he, and the rest of the guys, deserve all the good they can accomplish.

I liked it. It's catchy. Well put together and kind of a nice throwback to a bunch of the old 80's rock bands.

Maybe, in a throwback kind of way. The tune is very Boston-ish which I suspect is intentional. J. Geils just had a reunion concert with everyone except the drummer in on the fun so maybe a wholesale 70's rock and roll revival is the works for this summer.

Tiger put together a great group of musicians and I understand that he pays them well. He's having fun and they have a good gig. Looks like a win-win no matter what happens with the album.

I wonder if the hanger in the video is the one where the Boch keeps his plane. I think they rehearse as well.

Oh, most definitely...the song is cool enough, and the video is ok, so I hope it does something for them.
