Can you use laser printer paper in an inkjet?

I've been told that you cannot use inkjet paper in a laser printer, but can you do the reverse?

I have a template that gives only one Avery product number (for laser printer) and would like to use it with my inkjet printer.

Thanks

99% of the time it's safe. There might be some really weird thermally-sensitive paper out there, but other than that not a problem.

O.K., thanks.
Wanted to check before I laid out 15 bucks on paper and/or put my printer at risk of damage.

(BTW-what's happens in the 1% of the time?)

The 1% covers the specialist papers that either have rough surfaces that can abrade the print head or do strange things when heated.

It's okay. The opposite is the messier one.

Avery uses about 12 templates for over 300 kinds of labels. (theoretically, but you get the idea).

Usually with a little looking you can cross reference the inkjet from the laser stuff and in most cases it is the same template. You can also find just about any Avery template that has the same number of labels per sheet and use it, just don't crowd the margins. If you have a sheet with 3 labels across and 10 down, you can probably use any template for that type of sheet.

Also, if you do so, run a plain sheet of paper with the first print to make sure you will be in the margins etc. This is a lot cheaper than wasting a sheet of labels. If everything looks good, then print with the label stock.

Also, an inkjet will spray ink on anything. The only caution is if the labels you are using have a glossy surface. The ink may not penetrate or remain wet for a short time as it takes longer to be absorbed.

Laser labels in an inkjet are fine, inkjet labels in a laser is a big mess! Avery uses 2 different glues. The heat from the fusing process will weaken the inkjet glue and the labels come off inside your machine. it is funny as hell unless it is your machine!
