OP, I've lived in Canada my entire life, never heard use of an online pharmacy, gotta go in person. You can fill prescriptions over the phone but you still need to go pick it up.

- 'Legitimate' online pharmacies will require a prescription, and the regulations vary state to state. Some states actually encourage buying lower cost medications from a select number of approved Canadian pharmacies.
However, if you are planning on buying controlled substances on the internet even with a prescription, check to make sure this is legal in your state. I don't know the ins and outs of buying controlled substances on the internet, but I would generally assume that it is illegal regardless of prescription, unless told otherwise by state/federal government authorities.
The reasons people buy prescriptions on the internet are twofold:
- People who are prescribed expensive drugs can obtain them cheaper online than from US pharmacies. This may be legal, but the rules vary from place to place so I'd contact someone first to make sure... probably the first place I'd go is the state department of health to see if they know of a legitimate company.
- You can obtain controlled substances (amphetamines, opiates, ketamine, anabolic steroids etc.) from some websites without a prescription. This, of course, is super D duper illegal and people occasionally go to prison for it if customs intercepts the package. Customs keeps a watchful eye on some of these companies, so there's no telling if/when your package may be intercepted (especially if you're ordering a lot of pills). Sometimes when drugs are intercepted by the postal service, they'll do a controlled delivery... a guy delivers the package, you sign for it, and everything is cool until you realize that those bushes in your front yard aren't actually bushes, they're undercover agents in disguise. That's a slightly dramatized account, but controlled deliveries are a major tool used by postal inspectors to nail people sending drugs in the mail.
That being said, I would recommend anyone interested in buying their meds online to talk to their doctor first about a lower cost prescription. In many cases, if you ask, a cheaper generic medication can be substituted for brand name.
If you're still interested in buying meds online, once you've determined that it's legal to do so, make absolutely sure the pharmacy is legitimate. Many of them are sham companies set up in some dude's basement, and the medications you receive will be chalk. I know this is a big problem in Asia, but it can happen just as much in Mexico, Canada, South Africa, Europe etc. People who run these sites are very often shady and have no problem switching life-saving medications with fairy dust.
At this point, I really can't recommend anyone buy medications online... even if you're buying legal medications, it's easy to get duped.

They both claimed to be a brick and mortar store, but the meds I want are a generic eq, and have to be drop shipped from India. In USA, there are only brand names available at 3 times the price. |

You might be better off contacting your department of health to see if they know anything. I really don't know anything about rate of success vs. failure with these online pharmacies, but from time to time patients will come to the hospital with whatever problem, claiming that they always took their meds, and in reality they were taking pills they bought on the internet. I really have no way of knowing if that represents a 1/10 risk or 1/1,000 risk. Even some of the more reputable looking companies look a little shady to me, offering what seems to be unlimited refills, and requiring either a photocopy of a prescription, or even a picture of a pill bottle. Anyone could photoshop such an image...

Have had a prescription for a certain medication filled, and then refilled. Customer service has been consistently professional quality, product is high quality (shipped from Australia and from the UK), and the prices can't be beat (they offer a generic version of a medication that is not available in the US).
