Be Careful what you say.....?

I'm not sure if anybody mentioned this at the time - but I was just thinking that with some of the "arguments" we get around here - maybe people ought to be careful what they say?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/n...re/7636821.stm

So the Police in Germany arrested a man they suspect of coming over to Britain and stabbing a man he had argued with on an internet forum!!

"Officers in England and Germany said the arrested man knew the victim through an online games forum. "

"Mr Pyke, (who was murdered) originally from Stowmarket in Suffolk, ran a web forum for the Nintendo game Advance Wars on which gamers could chat online with each other about tactics, characters and plots."

So could this happen here......?

I actually read this on one of the various other forums I'm registered at (hardforum.com, aka [H]).
On that forum, we simply decided that we were better and cooler than that, and it wouldn't happen.

But there have been some pretty acrimonious "debates" around here - with people making threats - just this morning I saw Mike Money threaten to slap Mark Latimour...

Besides, that wasn't really a threat, its just one of Mike's fantasies!

So Bruce are you worried that you might get punched by Ken Smith?

Actually I have had a very cordial online relationship with Ken Smith and he invited me to join his personal forum - which I did!

So he would be the last person on my list - I would be more worried about some of the "kidz" who have been humiliated by being shown to have been "economical with the truth"!!

Well that is what's amazing about this case - that the guy travelled from Germany to England - stabbed the guy and went back!

Maybe he thought the police don't use the internet and would never make the connection...?

I suspect some people might fly over here to see what I'm smoking.

Since they ask me that question a lot.

I wonder if in all unsolved murder cases - the police will start looking at which internet forums the victim frequented?

Maybe it will become a new TV Cop series :

Forum Police

Coming to you soon.....

Maybe he should have stayed and taken in some sights before he left? then at least the trip would have been worth it.

I have a new theory of what happened.
My. Pyke lured the German man here to rob him of his new breakthrough computer technology and got stabbed when the German man defended himself
