I will be spending a few days in Cedar Rapids, Iowa next week. I'll actually be working in Manchester during the day.

Not the most exciting place my job has taken me to date, but there has to be at least something to do there....right?

Hit Dubuque instead. Busted lift on lower main has live music that usually is pretty decent.

Cedar Rapids is a nice place. You can tour the Quaker Oats factory.

There isn't actually very much to do there that you can't do in other cities. I mainly visit the city for family events, going to Guitar Center, and going to Music Go Round. It has actually become a rather depressing place since the flooding.

If you want some pizza then you should consider Leonardo's. My mom really likes that place and the inside of the building looks like a strip joint. It isn't, though.

Dubuque is a fun town - I spent a week up there about a year ago. Definitely the first town I've ever been in where I was in "downtown" (or the closest thing to one, I guess) and saw kids that couldn't have been older than 13 skateboarding at about midnight without adult supervision...since there wasn't any needed (as far as safety concerns go, anyway).

As far as Cedar Rapids goes, has that town improved since the flooding?

Alright, I'll drive over to Dubuque. Our company has an office there, so I can go meet some of the people I usually only exchange e-mails with.

GOLLY!!
You folks in Fairfield sure have some kind of fun!!

Up here in MN we wait for the snow to melt so we can watch the weeds grow.

No here it's just 100 degrees 6 months out of the year and I can't leave my house once the sun goes down.

I can honestly say I've only been on the east side twice, once for a college visit to UNI, and never to Dubuque. Stop by Sioux City, it's only a four hour drive
