Nah, not really-which one contributed more to their husband's music (writing, live performance, etc.?)

I was gonna say, Yoko would have permanently deafened Linda with a piercing screech, and then blinded her with some bad paintings, and then melted her brain with some bad poetry. Linda wouldn't stand a chance.

Yoko was more publicly involved in her guy's later creative output. Linda was always more private.

Nah, just trying to duck the cover charge.

Whenever my band plays and they don't allow guests I tell them that my gf is in the band. If we really have to I'll let her up on stage to sing a note or two.

Linda would have fought back with a brilliant portfolio of 60s rock star photography and amazing backing vocal chops.

Seriously, to answer the original question, I don't think it's a competition, but both were very inspirational to their partners. Linda's backing vocals on Paul's solo and Wings material was a big part of his sound. She didn't have a great voice (to say the least) or sense of key, but she did an adequate job, and her voice does add a distinct presence to many of those albums.

Linda McCartney. Happier music.

Neither could sing or play, but they were inspirations for some of John and Paul's better stuff.

I watched The Rolling Stone's Rock and Roll Circus and remember seeing her make this noise like a petting zoo being flattened by a steam roller. I bet everyone was thinking "John, could ya do somethin' about her?"
