Champion's League Final - Man Utd vs. Barca

You won't ever seem a team more comprehensively outclassed at this level. 3-1 really, really flatters United. They never stood a chance. Barcelona must be one of the best club sides ever at present.

in terms of football, perhaps. In term of sportsmanship and ref controversies, no.

I've never seen better, and I've been watching the game for 45 years.

I love England. I've been to England. My mother is from England. My cousin's son goes to University in Manchester. I have no love for Spain. I think the Spainards are the worst divers on the planet. Barca keep trying to poach Cesc Fabregas. EVERYTHING said I should root for Man Ure. I couldn't. I hate them too much. I rooted for Barca. Now I'm ashamed. LOL.

Villa's goal was incredible. Talk about placing a bender. I was wondering if they were EVER going to yellow card Valencia. He got away with A LOT.

Valencia was just frustrated about being totally out of his class. He was lucky not to get the card early in the game.

For your amusement, Pat, here's my Facebook post from before the start of the game.

Disappointing, but they were plain outplayed, still, we got the Premiership, finals in the Champions, and semi's in the F.A. so can't complain too much.

LOL. Love it Bill. Almost all of the front runners who follow the game here in the US are Man Ure supporters.

Most of my friend grew up in high school are Liverpool fans, seems like they have a big fanbase in the northeast.

The guy on the news just referred to this game as "a Spanish stroll". Sounds about right.

Surely that should let them Americans off too, then, seeing as most of them think they're Irish....

LOL! Very true. I'm sure my view of people who think they support Man U is not too dissimilar from your view of Americans who think they're Irish.

You actually see people online sometimes from Texas or Oregon who'll claim to be "Irish". It's pretty funny when you think about it.

Maybe so, maybe so.

Then again, I could be considered an American who thinks he's Irish too, which probably is no good indicator to my supporting United, hahaha!

It's surprisingly commonplace, a friend of mine suggested that it may be because the US is such a young country compared to many, that they try to identify themselves from further heritage than most would.
