cheap hotel recommendations in Chicago close to Grant Park

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm going to be going to lollapalooza with my brother this year and we're looking for cheap places to stay near grant park. My brother found a pretty cheap hotel but it's 20miles away in midway!

Any recommendations from people who lve there or have visited?

We are open to hostels and staying at someone's house

The cheaper the better.

Man, that's a tough one five days before the festival, especially since downtown hotels are already packed with the regular crush of tourists we get this time of year.

Honestly, you might want to stick with the one by Midway if you can get to the Orange line of the El (which ends at Midway) from there. That train will get you downtown in a reasonable amount of time (30 minutes, tops) and you can walk to Grant Park from the Library exit. Check the maps here. http://www.transitchicago.com/

Or check out this Days Inn a few miles north of downtown. Not a great place to stay, but it's a great location and close to the El. http://www.daysinn.com/DaysInn/contr...false&tab=tab1

Not gona be around those days otherwise i wouldn't mind you guys crashing at my place which is pretty close to downtown. Check out http://www.couchsurfing.org/ I have no doubt there are people in chicago on there willing to let you couch surf. I've never done it but my brother and his friend used it when traveling cross country and it worked out great for them.

My wife & I stayed at the Grant Park Best Western literally right there at the park.

The hotel had clown beds though.
