I think what makes Chewbacca Great is that in the movie, you had an actor playing Chewbacca. On probably his first role ever in a cheesy movie(I mean come on, he is huge and playing "chewy" a giant bigfoot costume) so he is going to emote. I think he was destined to be the next Orson Welles had he been given his big break.

I want a life-size animatronic replica of Chewbacca

No, animatronic is not the same as anatomic...a big robotic Chewy would be scary enough without seeing what's under the fur

It's actually "Chewie". Proper Nouns and all. "chewy" is an adjective.

This is a necessary criticism.. when I read this thread the first time I thought it was going to be about Chips Ahoy chewy cookies... oh man are those delicious.

Chewbacca is cool too though.

I'd bet Chewbacca IS actually chewy as hell. You'd really have to marinate the living crap out of wookie meat, then cook rotisserie style over low heat for at least a few days.

given the username and the adjective in the thread title, i couldn't help but think this thread would be about something else...

could it be that grammar helps with meaning?!?!?

It can do. Correct use of capitals often helps, too.

I queried Google for baby names ending in "ie" and "y", and couldn't determine the gender of Chewbacca.
I've concluded that names ending in "y" don't necessarily have adjective roots. Sandy, Stormy, Misty, Dusty, Rusty, Nicky, Addy, Barny, Becky, Billy...you get the point!
Now I'll never be able to eat chewy caramel without wondering if I'm ingesting wookie hair.
EDIT: There's got to be a few rawhide chew toys on the Millennium Falcon...remember the last time Han caught him gnawing on his boots?

Peter Mayhew, the man who portrayed Chewbacca in the series....always looks at LEAST as HIGH as the OP sounds.
