In our extended family we do a goody-grab bag for Christmas, and this year I drew my oldest sons's name out of the hat. I'm thinking of getting this for his gift - an AlcoHawk Digital Alcohol Detector. What I'd like to know is if anyone here at TB has any experience with this or any other home alcohol level detectors. Are they any good? How accurate are they? http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/car/837f/

| | | | I don't think that's a good idea (depending on age/maturity). I remember quite a few times drinking a ****ton to see how high we could come up on it.

My son is 24, relatively mature but with still a ways to go, a good job, a nice car, a girlfriend. Guess I'll have to think about it some more.

Filling them up is kind of fufilling in a primal hunter-gatherer sort of way. If he plays sports, you have it easy. A new soccer ball or gloves or fencing foil, whatever.
If he's into video games, you have it easy, too. If he's stylin', try picking him up a few tees at threadless.com (HUGE SALE UNTIL THIS TUESDAY BTW). Um.... if... he... is... going to school or does a lot of studying or note-taking at work, get him some nice pens. Like REALLY nice $50 pens. All office junkies love us some pens.
If he likes coffee and other hot drinks, a Tassimo machine is a Godsend.
Good luck man! Gifts from Dads are the best no matter what.
