Christmas Music

I'm upset that I have to hear it so early. One station around here started playing it on October 29th!

Yet, I find some of the classic songs very soothing.

I've got the new Motorhead Christmas album on my Ipod. Lemmy tears up Oh Holy Night.

So why do you have to hear it? Can't you change stations?

As long as it's Vince Guaraldi and Chris Squire Christmas songs, I'm good.

The only Christmas song worth listening to is Killing In The Name Of.

I was just in target yesterday and you better believe the whole Halloween section was already torn down and replaced by Santa and his 8 tiny reindeer. Actually, there was already a small Christmas section up at the beginning of October :/

So it's politically incorrect to wish someone merry christmas, yet every store and shopping mall can pipe this horrible music down our throats?

Christmas sucks. Retail greed at it's finest. Bah humbug.

Can you send me a link to the motorhead album. Idk if you were joking but if not I want that album hahaha.

I enjoy a lot of christmas music. Yeah, it's cheesy. SOme of it gets old. But after a while they play cool new versions and stuff. I'm hoping they play some stuff from bob dylans christmas album hahaha

I actually enjoy the music, to be quite honest. What I don't like is how early they begin to play it and how often they do play it once November and (especially) December rolls around. But I do enjoy the catchy and (often) cheesy tunes a great deal. It reminds me of my childhood and brings back a lot of nostalgia and fond memories.

I've always liked the "I want a hippopotamus for christmas" song.

^This sums it up. Christmas music is some of the most melodic music you'll hear. I especially love the symphony orchestra versions of Christmas favorites. And if you haven't heard Bootsy's Christmas CD (Christmas Is 4-Ever), you're in for a major treat!

Two good ones are Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt and Even Squeaky Fromme Loves Christmas by Glen Armstrong, but you never hear those in the malls.

Fairytale of New York by The Pogues, Vince Guaraldi and the old Crooner and Elvis stuff tends to not make me wretch...

That Paul McCartney/Wings tune, though... I taste bile... every time...

Try changing the station in a town that only has one.

Yes, it was a thinly veiled attempt at humor alluding to the fact that virtually every big name band has a Christmas album, capitalizing on their fame, often strictly for monetary purposes. (Not that there's anything wrong with that).

I suppose if crowded malls, credit card debt and "Here Comes Santa Claus" is all there is to Christmas, I would find it annoying. I feel for you guys that are trapped in retail stores for months piping in "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..." over and over.

But when it gets to that "Fall on your knees" part, man, that's powerful. I can only imagine what Lemmy could do with that.
