I've been watching this movie for over 25 years, and it still cracks me up every time I watch it.

The F-dash-dash-dash word!

Classic movie . My family's watched it every thanksgiving night to kick off the Christmas season for as long as I can remember (except this year when we watched it a bit early to show it to a German exchange student who was only here through mid October.)

Every year. We have worn out something like five vhs copies. We finally went and bought it on DVD this year, but the only way we found it for sale was in a three dvd pack with happy feet and the polar express. We still haven't watched the other two.

BTW, read the book, In God we trust, all other pay cash". It's an excellent read, and a great insight on 1940's and 50's midwest living.

I want a friend named Flick. There is a lady where I work with the last name of Flick, but she is not my friend.

+1 for Jean Shepherd. I hold him forever personally responsible for having to use a radio for a nightlight. I would listen to his stories on WOR NY and laugh myself to sleep. He was quite the talker. The story about going to the Indy 500 for the first time (in the book "The Ferrarri in the Bedroom) is one of my favorites.

If you like the movie, you will love his writings.

Where's Flick? Has anyone seen Flick?

Flick? Flick who?

I think I know the first movie I'm going to be watching when I get home.

My favorites are him talking about his father, how he works in profanity like other artists work in painting, or it lingering over Lake Michigan.
