Are the Cincinnati Bearcats for real?

I haven't seen them play this year [other than highlights], but am checking them out now against West Virginia. Are these guys really that good? Can they sustain? Will they play and do well in a big BCS Bowl? If they win out, do they deserve a shot at the title, or at least be in the conversation?

Oh yeah, same questions for TCU.

They certainly look pretty deep at QB - the kid Collaros may even be an upgrade over Pike. I'll be watching tonight, the games with WV and Pitt should show if they're for real.

Even if they do win out, if Texas and Florida/Bama goes undefeated, they won't get a shot. I heard the announcers talking Cincinnati/TCU during the Rutgers game last night, and they feel that if both went undefeated, Cincy would get the nod due to strength of schedule.

ive been pretty surprised lately. the default school around here is ranked 5th in the nation? get out. the bengals are doing well? no way.

i have a hard time believing any sports team around here is capable of good, so this is fun. and i went to high school with tony pike.

we could get a bowl game. sweet. pike might get a heisman. sweet. then he'll get drafted. sweet. and then he'll get cracked in half by some linebacker. hes too immobile to be that scrawny. he's 25 years old balling all over a bunch of 19 and 20 year olds, and thats why he looks good.

far be it for this florida fan to rag on cincy for winning by narrow margins.

take this convo to the "week 11" thread. i need something to talk about there to break up all of the, "the sec isn't that good!" "yes it is, shuddup!" "nuh, huh!" talk that's going on.
