A cliche introductory thread.

Heya-
I'm Dakota, I'm 17, I've lurked on here for the last 6 months or so... Finally pulled the trigger and made an account. I've played bass for 3 1/2 years. I play in the jazz band at my school . On the non-musical side, I play tennis and run cross country. Short bio over.

So...

Hi.
Don't be too harsh, please.

OK......I'll be the first one to clown on him. The New Member Intro thread is over in the TalkBass Lounge.

Other than that, get in the NFL and NHL threads and claim your teams.

I've lurked 6 months, yet I haven't read the rules. God, I'm good.
I don't exactly know the protocol here, I guess mods'll get around to deleting this or moving it or something.

Edit- Thanks for telling me, by the way.

Do you play a jazz bass in your jazz band?

I do. 2000 MIM with upgraded pups. I'm still trying to convince my band director to bring her upright to school so I can give that a go as well.

Hi.
Don't be too harsh, please.
If you weren't 17 I'd tell you to go find this guy named MakiSupaStar and make sure you brought crisco with you.

Since you are, I'll tell you to watch out for this guy named Eric Perry who carries crisco around with him.

Also, Blendermassacre is our local Ginger Viking; Macaronitony and Relic have both recently had their mancards revoked; 5stringblues has become the new Atoz; Atoz is the old Atoz; Gard is certifiably insane; Mike is a guy who txts you about hanging out when he comes through town, then doesn't actually come through town, but rather somewhere an hour away; there are more of us, but I'd stay away from this place if I were you. We make grown men cry and kittens self immolate.

Welcome.

@sandmangeck- Relatively small school, no orchestra.

@sloasdaylight- Yeah, I've gotten relatively familiar with the TBOT hierarchy, I'm keeping my head down.

Thanks for the welcome.
I think.

Ain't no hierarchy in TB OT. Unless you count John Turner.

Ok, hierarchy wasn't exactly the right word... Maybe subculture? Either way. First encounter with a mod.

Hola, Topspin

Sloasdaylight forgot to mention a couple things: He secretly wants to become 5stringblues, and he's jealous of me because he can't return kicks or carry the football.

Glad to have you here.

Now, I can't say anything nice without adding some sort of good natured jibe. I'm sorry; it's just the way I'm wired. So here goes: Dakota is a girl's name. And real men run the 200. Tennis is fun though

Why bother, when it can already hear the future? And whispering won't help - while you slept, it installed wireless pickups IN YOUR BRAIN! There is no escape. Just pray it's not hungry when your turn comes around...

Hi! Err,

"Subculture" is a good way to describe it, if you break down the word.

"Sub" meaning beneath or under.
"Culture" meaning something in which to grow lab experiments.

Welcome.

*sigh* yeah it was a really sad fall from grace. Well....you actually have to be somewhat graceful to fall from grace so we'll call it a stumble..but still...sad.
I hear he's doing well at interior design now so I guess it's true that every cloud has a pink frilly lining...
As for me, I'm still contesting the loss of man card. But I HAVE been enjoying getting in touch with my feminine side. Matter of fact if I turn off the lights and close my eyes, my moobs can almost pass as perky little jigglies, so I've been touching my feminine side quite well. ohhhyessss

oh and OP - hey you snotnose kid, get offa my lawn!!
