First let me say that rasturbation isn't what you think it is. A rasturbation is something like this:
It's a picture printed out using many pieces of paper, or something like that.
So here's what I want to do: a picture of some kind of outer space thing that will COMPLETELY COVER MY BEDROOM CEILING!
That's where the NASA folk come in. I recall seeing a few pictures of galaxies and stuff that were absolutely enormous in size: something like 10,000 pixels by 10,000 or something crazy like that.
Whoever can find me the highest resolution picture of something cool wins!
Also, for the rasturbation people: what program do you recommend, and should I use special paper?

Here is the directory of all of the large images. http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/entire_collection/
I hope that is what you wanted.
Actually, they are not as large as I thought. I was sure they were MB files not KB.

Then I'm going to rasturbate all over the ceiling I'll try to take a pic when it's done, it could take a day or two since I need to take down some light fixtures etc. |

My friend gave me the idea that I would make this glow in the dark. Ok, so how do I do that? A simple google search revealed that I need to buy glow in the dark powder. So I bought a bunch of different powders, and hopefully by the end of the week I can begin experimenting. It's going to be a glow in the dark extravaganza. Each powder has a different duration/brightness, so over the course of time the image will change. siiiiick |

| | | According to the urban dictionary to 'rasturbate' has two meanings. One is much funnier than the other. |

I'm probably have fun with rasterbating too...still looking for a cool picture though.
Which reminds me, this is probably the most hilarious pick up line ever. It works only in Dutch alas. Quote:

Hi!
Do you masturbate?
What????
What do you study?
It's funny because it rhymes in Dutch |

| | | | My favorite thing about all of the NASA photos is that they are public domain.
Thank you NASA for the band logo. Your photographer got the perfect shot for our band's logo. It looks great on the bass drum head. |

I am going to get some of my own photography colour rasterbated and then I will print each page using laser c-type. |

| | | If you want reasonable resolution, given a small 10' x 8' ceiling, you'll want something around 72 DPI, which is monitor resolution (below the lowest standards of print). This gives you a minimal picture size of 8640 x 6912.
But for a picture that's nice to look at, I recommend 150 DPI, which puts you in the ballpark of more than 15000 pixels on each side.
Maybe http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/...on/pr2006001a/ will do the trick. It's an amazing picture of the Orion nebula. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
