I haven't really decided what I think of this stuff, but it occurred to me the other day that I'm actually spending more on it than I am on quality cat food.
Something inherently strange about that, I don't know what.
My cat is the only family I have, so I begrudge her nothing (especially since she doesn't claw my gear), but I'm thinking someone's gotta be making a bundle off this stuff.

Yes, I'm mad.

Part of this is also that I got my cat one of these, so she drinks an astounding amount of water, apparently for entertainment and fun...which is good, but it has to go somewhere.
I think I could build a stone fence out of these eggplant-sized clumps.

It's light, absorbs moisture very well, smells more of wood than of anything else, and as saturation sets in the pellets just gradually disintegrate.

Yes, I'm mad. | Your cats eat better than I do.

I like the biodegradable aspect, since most of the world's kitty litter winds up sitting in landfills.
Most kitty litter is basically pelletized hygroscopic clay that absorbs liquids like a sponge. If you don't like the cellulose-based stuff, go down to the hardware store and grab a bag of Speedi-Dri granular oil absorbent, which is the same thing and cheaper than kitty litter here.
Then again, I know some people who use 'expended' litter as traction sand on ice during the winter here....

What about the scratchy micro-splinters on my cat's "sensitive areas"?

I discovered Everclean several years ago and have never used anything else since. Everyone else I've turned on to the stuff swears by it too. I just recommend you try the unscented, as the scented stuff's perfume aroma is very overpowering.

I have to remind myself to scoop out the litter box because it just never smells. I suppose if my cat used it for a few weeks without it being scooped out, I'd start to smell something...
