but realistically it won't work well until it's federally legal.

I'm not into smoking, or drinking or any of that but it should
be legal if alcohol is. No one has ever died from weed poisoning.
You can make your own beer and wine too, legally, and liquor illegally, but pretty simply and with no realistic threat of being caught or punished. Most people don't bother.

Right so you don't hook up a 4 ohm bong to an 8 ohm vape.

Yeah. Otherwise you might get TOO high if you're not careful.

Ca is going to be leading the charge to regulate and tax it.
that is if it is not recriminalized first.

I know groups like NORML say it has so much support, but it is losing support in the northern part of the state far faster then it ever gained it.
The problem is the PEOPLE, not the drug.
As soon as it was approved for medicinal use, there was a mass movement to the norther part of the state, where there is better agg land. This resulted in huge increases in grammar school kids smoking, and massive crime increases. We now have the gangs and crap, up here, that were not present before our prop 215.
The big thing that lost support for marijuana use and cultivation in the north state was a local ordinance that it could not be cultivated within 1,000 feet of a school. Now, let's be just a little bit realistic. You cannot sell alcohol next to a school. You cannot sell cigarettes next to a school. You cannot have a gas station next to a school. Yet the local marijuana supporters chose to fight this. They took it to the public, and in front of every grocery store, there was someone looking like Shaggy from Scooby Do, trying to collect signatures to allow "grow zones" next to schools. They even had the NORML representative go to a council meeting and actually cuss out the elected officials, to the point that he was removed and barred from any further meetings.

The users have shot themselves in the foot, and have no one but themselves to blame

is it really a bah humbug to point out that IDIOTS have given other users a bad image?

I did point out that the problem was with the PEOPLE, not the drug. Did you miss that part?

It seems that any time something is unregulated, there are those who will exploit it for their own benefit, at the expense of others. This is the case with CA's prop 215

just making a comment, like what you did, really does not help does it. You implied that I was against it, or grumpy, or whatever you wanted it to mean, but let's look at your comment for what it really was. You did not address my point at all. Instead you digressed to a more personal response to diminish any credibility my point would have had, and in doing so, redirected attention away from the substance of my statement.
Obviously you could not dispute my point, but you could not let it go unanswered, because it did not support your own beliefs... This is exactly the kind of mentality that is losing the support of Northern CA's non smokers.

But what your talking about doing has been done... and it's been measured. if you search hard enough you can find out actually how much of the good stuff is lost by vaping thru a water pipe.

use google and educate yourself... seriously. All these questions have been asked, tested, and documented... in real scientific labs with scientist that have real degrees.

Of course there are other ways to do it, I never claimed it would be the most efficient way to get high. Though using a longer whip would of course result in loss of THC much like using some sort of vapour chamber or a bong. I'd probably use Ice ideally, although I've also heard of people using warm water to get a higher concentration of water vapour in their hit resulting in a smoother hit, which may be preferable to some people.

I can see where you are coming from, and while THC content and absorption can certainly be quantified, a persons individual reaction and response cannot. When you're working with something that is largely psychological and subjective, the ritual and method of smoking can have a very large impact on the high, in some cases more so than the actual drug itself. I'd cite myself and my own experience, but I doubt it will do much good. There is a science behind getting high, but it's far from exact, and there is no "Right" way to do it. Some may be more efficient from a technical standpoint, but different things work for different people.

For me, it is more to do with trying new and unusual methods of smoking (or consuming in general) purely for enjoyments sake. Some friend of mine will often scoff at my obscure homemade apparatuses, telling me it's not as good as a good piece or a vape, for whatever reason or whatever, but who really cares? Not I. It's about the fun of doing it, when you build a bass in your back shed it's probably not gonna be as good as a boutique custom bass, or even a production model, but it's the process of building it and customising things the way you want that makes it worthwhile. I also spend hours soldering away on old kids toys to make cool sounds when I could just use the MicroKorg instead.

I just like DIY, stop stifling my creativity!!

Look on the bright side, in the long run it's another nail Harper has pounded onto his coffin. Public sentiment here is for legalization. If it picks up momentum in the US we won't be too far behind.

I'm happy to see people are quickly moving past the "Medical marijuana" thing. That had me worried that pharmaceutical companies would find some way in and end up patenting marijuana or something, or that it'd be an actual prescription drug, which would just be a hassle.
The whole "Medical" bit is a joke too. Sure, cannabis has its uses for relieving symptoms of several diseases, but for the most part, it was people pretending to one degree or another that they've got something wrong with them so they can smoke pot. Coupling the paranoid tendencies of marijuana for many with the power of suggestion through repetition, that could have ended up with a nation full of stoned hypochondriacs.
