Cocktails with eggs

Sign in to disble this ad
In efforts to expand my alcohol consumption repertoire I decided to mix myself up some cocktails that seemed odd to me.

I was scouring Wikipedia (my favourite source for just about anything) and I came across the Royal Fizz. It fit perfectly, it had gin (my favourite liquor) and contained a...... fresh egg.

So I went down to the kitchen and mixed up: two parts gin, five parts tonic water, one part lime juice and one freshly cracked egg.

It tasted amazing. Not fruity, and almost child-like like most "good tasting" cocktails, it really had some character to it.

But the egg was a bit hard to get down, just due to size, rather than texture or taste.

Was I suppose to whisk it up or anything like that? I figure it would make it more homogeneous and easier to drink.

I figure this is a rather esoteric question, as I haven't noticed egg cocktails to be very popular. But please post if you have any insight or are a fan of egg containing cocktails yourself.

Mmmm, mmm!

A pre-embryonic chicken gin fizz.

The closet thing I've had would be the old eggnog and rum/whisky, and from what I understand the bottled eggnog doesn't really have any eggs in it. Pffft, who knew?

Pour beer in a glass. Add an egg. Enjoy.

I think I made it wrong in the initial run. It being in the "Collins" family of cocktails I realize it should have been stirred, therfore breaking up the yolk of the egg.

This would make it easier to drink... perhaps round two is in order.

Salmonella's trendy. It's long overdue for a comeback.

Real men don't need booze in their eggs!

I don't think I could drink a raw egg let alone a glass full of them.
