I did some gigs in Alice Springs earlier this year and I must say, it is an incredibly beautiful place, BUT I'm not surprised by this story. Why would seat belts matter in a town where TV community service announcements try to convince locals that sleeping in the middle of the road is a bad idea. No Kidding. I though i was watching a send-up TV commercial at first, but it was the real deal.
