His problem is that he's forced to be in character 100% of the time, and the character is such a closed-minded twit that it really doesn't mesh well with, I'd wager, 85% of his guests. Lots of interesting conversation has never materialized because Stephen Colbert (the man) stays firmly behind Stephen Colbert (the character) |
