Sign in to disble this ad
okay, year 2 of university starts tomorrow, and I'm compiling a list of all the stuff I'll need to throw in my backpack/pockets.

so far I've got:

-keys
-wallet
-phone
-2 pens
-1 pencil
-1 flash drive
-1 calculator

alright talkbass, what other items will I (and every other college TBer) need, practical or otherwise?

Year 3, baby. Time to check out the student body if you know what I mean.

Too bad I'm an engineering major. Total sausage fest.

the key operator in this thread is "backpack". Carrying all of that around on my person would be just a tad conspicuous, no?

This. Along with paper you need binders. Those are the top two things on my checklist when I start in a few weeks.

Paper? Binders?

What is this, a school from the 1960's?

Do college kids even know what these things are?

My suggestion: You're year 2. You already know what you need. It's the same as year one.

Planner. With so much stuff going on, I couldn't survive college without it.

I have all my essentials:
cellphone, iPod, wallet, earbuds, papers, ZbindeR (so it calls it's bad self on the label) MacBook, school books, combat boots, leatherman Squirt P4, swiss army knife, shiv, machete, and whoopin' stick. Some of these I carry in my car because I do landscaping work on Fridays. and pens and pencils. I also have a flashdrive loaded with portable apps so I can surf school machines anonymously and leave no data behind.

First day of classes was today. Got hollered at four times for not having a pencil. I'm now bored and taking a nap.

Well, you forgot a pencil and that was on your list. Do you really think that anything we suggest will make a difference in you remembering the essentials?

Toilet paper, condoms, both kinds of bongs, substances to use on both kinds of bongs...

Starting year 3 this year. First year I came packed like the army. This year I have bed stuff, tv, clothes and the above, plus a bass and a few school supplies.
