Comic book nerds, help me remember one...

There was an "underground/alternative" comic book series in the late 80's, that centered around a pair of brothers (I think) who had magic interdimensional powers, and who had an electronic noise music band. There were related titles/issues that focused on the band, or on other noise-artists in the extended family. As I recall, there was also some overlap with reality, in that a real-person electronic musician or two was included as a character in the comic, and there may have been some cassettes of actual music from the fictional band.

One of the brothers had a cruel streak, and he smoked ball point pens.

Any idea what I'm talking about? Google has let me down so far.

The only thing close to that that I can remember was "Love and Rockets".

It might have been published by Dark Horse, and it did come out around the same time as Love and Rockets (though it wasn't anywhere near as successful or long-lived).

Edit: Not Dark Horse (not here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...s_publications )

As with most things, it's not as cool as I remembered.
