community

hey, guys. my favorite tv show now is "community" on nbc. it could very well be the best comedy on tv. (it's definitely better than the rest of the nbc line-up, "the office," included.) watch the halloween episode and try to argue against my claim.

http://www.hulu.com/watch/105441/com...-to-statistics

the characters are stereotypes, but the writers are acutely aware of this and have based several jokes parodying both their use of stereotyping and traditional stereotypes in sitcoms.

joel mchale is the star of the cast, and his character's a total jerk. so while that's a good fit, his character can be a bit grating at times. the supporting cast is great, once you get past the first episode. abed is turning into one of the most awesome bizarre characters since creed from the office. chevy chase is also really funny as the possibly-going-senile token old guy-in-college. ken jeong and john oliver as faculty members are great.

the dialogue is quick-paced and dry, so it should be a favorite among arrested development fans. (speaking of which, any word about abc's "modern family"?)

also, make sure to watch the post-credit scenes. those little codas are sometimes the best moments of the episodes.

"community" and "parks and rec" are the only tv shows i watch on hulu now--it's displaced "the office" from my viewing time.

in conclusion, "the office" hasn't been good for a while.

30 Rock and Parks and Recreation are good. I haven't been able to catch Community yet.

Anybody know of a proxy that allows you to see hulu.com outside of the US?

yeah, that's rough with hulu only being able to broadcast shows to american audiences. that's international copyright laws for ya.

Maybe I need to check it out again, but the first couple of episodes failed to impress me so I quit watching. And there's no way it's better than 30 Rock. That is the best show on TV right now.

My son Geoffrey has autism borderlining into Aspergers Syndrome...so I have a 9 year old version of Abed. The guy they have playing him has the same manifestations of my son, so it's like looking at a window to the future...

This is the boat I'm in as well, first few episodes I watched were terrible. Maybe it's worth another try.

Chevy Chase's character totally reminds me of my high school jazz band teacher!

I have never heard of if, but I might give it a shot because Chevy Chase is in it. Also, check either www.tvshack.net or www.surfthechannel.com, it should be on either of those for the people outside of the US.

This show is pretty funny as well. My girlfriend likes to watch top model, so its nice that this show comes on right afterwards to make my brain smile again.

And the humor is very much akin to Arrested Development with a lot of subtle jokes that are easy to miss if you havent paind attention.

Always Sunny has found a way to take it to the next level this season. I never thought it could get any funnier, but this season is in a league of it's own.

And the first episode of The League was pretty funny, but the second had my friends and I falling of the couch clutching our aching abs with laughter. "They're twist-offs?!"
