Define compartmentalizing.

If you mean organizing yourself by using cubbies and other separate storage containers, it's a very good thing.

If you mean avoiding interaction between one or more aspects of your life, I believe it can be a very bad thing.

It's necessary. You need to deal with different aspects of life differently. Everyone has their own way of organizing life and dealing with it.

But is it healthy when you make sure it's CRUCIAL that the two never interact? I say no.

I try to minimize it, but not go out of my way to entirely avoid it.

It is healthy to compartmentalize. If one took the same attitude at home as at work it would be very destructive. Compartmentalizing lets us leave work at work and home at home. Very critical!!!!!
