a few days back i installed a audiotrak maya44 mkII sound card in my computer. the sound card is working, somewhat, because when i choose it in the play back devices in the sound menu it works fine.
but the issue is am not able to record with it. when i open the recording devices tab in the sound menu it just hangs up forever and freezes. so am not able to enable the maya sound card for recording. the on board sound card is recording and playing fine but has mighty latency issues.
i am using windows vista sp1 and this is the link for the soundcard webpage http://www.audiotrak.net/products/maya44mkii/
any help would be great. ask any questions which might help pinpoint the issue. thanks

Peace,
Greg

If this does not resolve the issue, go to add/remove and uninstall the sound card program, then re install from the disc that came with the card.

If the manufacture does not have a driver for Vista you can try the compatibility mode. Find the .exe for that program and right click it. There should be a tab marked "compatibility" Put a check mark next to run as XP. Sometimes that works. |

Is this a different problem from the one you were talking about before? Did you try updating the drivers?

If your mother board has an on board video chipset, you will need to switch to it instead of your GFX card. Use the onboard video for audio applications, then switch back to the GFX card for games ecetera.
If it does not, you will need either a differrent mother board or an external sound card (USB / Firewire).

Do you have any need for the on-board audio? Disable it in either the BIOS or from the device manager. Quote:

Not all of them will be on the same IRQ.
Still sounds like you may have a driver issue or you have both the on-board audio and the sound card enabled and there is a software (sound recorder) conflict.
My best guess, anywho.

My best guess, anywho. | my stupid intel DG35ec board has only one pci slot. am taking it to the vendor i bought the whole system from, he said he'd fix it for me. if it cant be fixed i'd persuade him to give me another board
