This computer is new, but is doing something my previous ones never did and I haven't found the culprit...yet.

If I copy some text and paste it in Wordpad, most of the time (but not always) all the HTML will appear around it also.

Is this a Windows or Wordpad setting screwup and how do I turn it off?

What is the source that you are copying from? That could end a lot of confusion on my part.

This ^, and left-click-drag-select, or right-click-drag-select? Have you checked for proper mouse button assignments in the appropriate control panel?

I'm just copy and pasting text as normal:
Hold left button to highlite text to be copied.
Right click for menu to click "copy".
Go to Wordpad, right click for menu to click "paste".

Most often I'll end up with all the (usually hidden) HTML displayed with the text. Most often with info from emails, but not always.
