So I've scoured the internet over and over, with no luck whatsoever, and its really come that TB has become my final hope...
For about a month or so now I've been getting the error "gfxui is not working" on start-up, but never honestly thought anything of it since it did't seem to affect anything. Then a few days ago I tried to plug my laptop into my tv and it was all out of whack, and when I tried to get into "graphics properties" I was getting that old gfxui error again, and I've been trying to get rid of it since.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Intel video drivers and .NET framework, checking to make sure it was enabled, running all my registry cleaners and anti-viruses in safe mode, letting it try and auto-update the video drivers, everything I could find, with the only progress I've made being that after I ran all that stuff in safe mode, the error itself no longer pops up, but the graphics properties, no matter how I try to get to it, is completely unresponsive.
This is absolutely driving me insane, so if anyone could help shine some light on this for me I'd seriously be eternally grateful!!!

Then reinstalled all the gfx stuff from scratch?
(did a search and found someone with the same problem, same .dll at fault too, and it seemed to work for them).
PS - Cyrpt of doom? That's one hell of a porn dungeon.

PS - Cyrpt of doom? That's one hell of a porn dungeon. | How exactly would I do that? I believe I probably have but not entirely sure, and really this is the first real issue I've had with this computer so I'm pretty inept in the field of technical terms...
PS the name comes from kind of an in-joke of mine and my buddies from my old band, just a name that was given to my old room that carried on to my computer, lol.

It's also possible that that is what you have been uninstalling, and not the drivers?

First of all, I'd try uninstalling via add-remove programs. Just check through the entire list, make sure you get anything related to the video chipset.
I would have thought that uninstalling the Intel stuff via the control panel would have removed them. But incase they didn't, you can use Administrative Tools in the Control Panel, this has an icon called Computer Management, click on Device Manager in the side bar. This lists all the hardware on the computer, select Display Drivers and then your GFX chipset and remove the drivers that way.
There are some other things you can try here: Uninstalling and Reinstalling Video Drivers - Graphics-Cards - Graphic-Displays Uninstall Drivers from Vista & Windows 7 Uninstall or Reinstall a Device
I will add, I've not done much with Windows 7, so maybe safer waiting til someone else comes along and can give a more definative answer!

I restarted between the steps and afterwards too, then I reinstalled the drivers, and I still can't open graphics properties, so I'm still completely stumped.
I've also tried uninstalling all the programs that were installed after 10/10/11, since that was the last time I watched a movie through my tv, but still with no luck. I then ran Wise registry cleaner after rebooting again, still to no avail. This is truly grinding on my last nerve and I'm on the verge of a complete freakout since I've been trying to fix this for the last 4 days or so, with no progress whatsoever (except now my computer is running alot nicer after running so many misc. cleaning programs) and I guess my only option now is just to save up some cash and take it to a pro, with the hope they can do something about it.

ITS WORKING!!!!
I just uninstalled all the Intel crap again, and restarted, like usual. Upon booting back up, it tried to automatically get new drivers, which it has been doing... And failing.
This last time, it didn't fail though! And though I think I'm using an older version since the whole graphics properties interface is alot less fancy looking, it is allowing me to change the resolution and fix the aspect problem, making my tv usable again, NOICE!
Now I'm just debating whether or not to fudge with it anymore to update it to the version I was running or if I should leave well enough alone, though I can't seem to get the extended desktop theme I like to use so much to work right. (it can be pretty difficult to read any writing on the tv since its so small, so I use the tv for watching and laptop for anything that needs reading, and its nice not having to constantly switch between the 2)
But anyways...

I'm just trying to get around having to use nearly 3 year old drivers that I think are intended for Windows XP.
