Conan's first Tonight Show tonight with...

PEARL JAM!

This is huge. Monumental. The Tonight Show has such a rich history. Pearl Jam's my favorite band. I have always preferred Conan as my late night TV host, and was never a Leno fan at all.

Anyone else pumped about this?

Meh,...past my bedtime.

Conan's funny, but to me those late night shows are just another facet of our cultures celebrity obsession. I'll have none of that.

since the glorious beta version of hulu, i have seen every late night (including fallon now). before, i had seen him (conan) on occasion, and was a fan, but not enough to tune in every night.

if you hate the celebrity part, just watch the first two sections before the interview. that is all conan/writers; sketches, characters, audience stuff. conan has been the best late night talk show host for years.

i think lenos fans are too old to stay up that late, so he got moved down, though i much prefer the original plan of just getting rid of him.

screw that buzzkill: IM PUMPED! CONAN 4 LIFE YO.

I agree. With my work schedule, I haven't been a Conan devotee in quite some time, but when I could watch it, I'd watch at least up until the interviews. That's where he really shines. Really interested what the show's gonna be like now. I don't like Conesy going LA. At least I get to see him more now. It's gonna be tough staying up for PJ tonight.

About 40 minutes. ( I remember when they announced the switch, it seemed like so far in to the future, now it's here.)

I can take a hazing

Is the Max Weinberg (and his band) coming along with...him. That guy kills it on the drums.

That was not one of the better Conan episodes that I have seen.

I saw the show and really liked it.

I especially liked Jeff Ament's P-bass tone!!! Excellent!

So, what was his rig? Couldn't really tell. Two 6x10's, possibly a Marshall head?

BTW, I didn't know Ament got mugged recently outside the studio they were recording at. That sucks.

I'm still sad that The Masturbating Bear can't make the move to 11:30.

I was excited all weekend about Pearl Jam being on and I forgot to record it. Arrgh. Headed to YouTube to see if anyone has posted it yet.

I was hopeful, watching, watching, watching. Then at midnight my cable went out.

I watched the intro and part of Will Ferrell (not my favorite by a long shot), then went to bed. Not excited by the show band or by Pearl Jam.

Paul Schafer and Letterman's band are great! I'd take them over Conan's band any day.

I saw the two custom 610's (SWR I figure)....one head was the Marshall, the other an Ashdown ABM series, but I am unsure what was atop the Ashdown...it had two rows of knobs like a Landmark 600, but it wasn't...can't really tell.
