That Confounded Amazon!

So, on Friday I finally get around to ordering my video camera from Amazon, as it was about $100 less than actually buying it at a retailer like Best Buy. Cost me $250, free shipping. It has Flash memory so I also purchased an 16gig SDHC card for about $30.

So about 10 minutes ago I get an email from Amazon saying the camera I ordered (through them) was out of stock and that they canceled my order but that I was free to order it through one of their affiliates, the cheapest one being $279.99 with $8.34 shipping. I believe I just got bait & switched

I like your way of thinking.

At least they notified you after just 10 minutes. I've dealt before with a different online retailer who didn't tell me they were out of stock until a few days later, only after I had sent them a couple of emails.

I've had pretty good service from Amazon, overall.

+1. Music123 took my order for a new Ric for $950(!) after they screwed me out of a scratch n' dent a couple of years ago, canceled my order after 2 months (apparently Ric stopped supplying them because they didn't pay their bills in a timely manner), then took an extra 2 months before they notified me. They tried to "make it up to me" by offering some garbage like $50 off any order over $1500 or something like that. I was pretty upset, needless to say.

I'd recommend getting stab-happy with them too.

It was 4 days later, not 10 minutes...

Dang, serious? The same thing happened to my son a couple months ago when he went to buy a JVC videdo camera from Amazon. He ended up getting his from Circuit City.
