Didnt look to see if there is already a thread started on this. This sounds serious. Even on the google search engine there is a petition you can click on and "sign". I did not do it because I am on my work computer. So what is getting censored adult sites, spam, pop ups? |

Without getting too political, just trying to inform: Censor everything, filter the internet, give 'them' the ability to choose what you can and cannot do or see.
Mainly aimed at the idea of stopping 'piracy' and copyright infringement. Personally I believe it is completely insane, I'll refrain from going any further as I would be getting entirely too political.
Check out the info on Wikipedia. Go to any page you want, it is blacked out in protest, but you can still read up on the issue following the link that is shown.

They have been trying to get a filter on the internet here in Australia for a good while now, claiming that it will be filtering only Child Pornography. The "blacklist" of sites to be blocked (currently optional, however they are working on getting all ISPs to intergrate it permanently) was leaked a while back, the plan was to have it remain highly classified (suspicious much?). It contained not only hundreds of standard pornography websites containing no child pornography, but things such as youtube videos, image boards, and even several websites belonging to small business owners. Just shows how easily a system like this can become corrupted, and it wasn't even in operation yet.
