So I got the urge to make some peanut butter cookies. This would be my first time ever making cookies from scratch. Making the dough was fine, baking was fine and they have come out lightly golden with a nice texture (soft but with a bit of a crunch.) Basically seemingly great for a first try. However, I did not realise the tray had been used earlier today to bake some battered fish and that there was still some trace of oil on it.
That's right, I have fish flavoured peanut butter cookies |

Ah well, they're not so bad I can't still eat them. Waste not, want not and all that. |

(also- theres a thread on this page regarding "gross junk food combinations," though maybe the fish wasnt originally part of the junk food...)
aside from not mixing them with fish, i would say the best advice i can give about cookie making is to sift your white sugar and flour. if you buy giant bags of flour, or simply dont bake often, the flour clumps together, which makes for not awesome cookies. |

And yes, it is always important to make sure the flour is not clumped. |
