so today at my my school, we had a holocaust survivor come and speak to us. he was a jewish man from poland who was taken to auswitch camp at the age of 16. he lost his whole family and had a very sad story to tell. it was a very interesting presentation, he showed us his number that was tatooed on his arm, and had many pictures that we viewed as well. he told us that we lived in heaven, and that we dont know what fear and pain is, and that he hoped we never found out. he said rise against evil, and teach love and compassion and never let anything like this happen again.
needless to say, at the end of the presentation, i shook his hand and told him how very appreciative i was of his to come and speak to us.
V.

In 10 years the amount of living Holocaust survivors will drastically decrease. Imagine an entire population of kids that will never receive these speeches. |

Luckily (hopefully) none of us will have to go through his agony. | As I was reading this thread I was thinking the same thing. These Holocaust survivors that open up and tell people of their experiences have a reserve of courage that I know I don't have. Or that I pray I never have to have. God bless them.

The chances these 2 individuals were the same person is better than you'd think. Needless to say, never in a school-wide assembly had the students ever paid more attention to the speaker than that day. And rightfully so.

He was such a nice guy. and i unfortunatly had to apologise for some disrespect of some students.
With some of the people i know, im worried about the future of the world.

In a few years, there will be no more Holocaust survivors and it will be up to all of us to make sure that their suffering is never forgotten.

All are very special because most of them without the survivors have artifacts, and that really hits you, but when there is a person there and he shows you the stuff they did, that's the worst. I usually come out near tears.
