Well, it seems to me there's been an awful lot of negativity going down lately. I mean, it could just be me, as I can only view the world around me through my subjective and ultimately frail viewpoint, but it seems that there has been an increase in troll threads and threads based around negative aspects of life.
While I feel it is important to take note of the negative, I don't feel it is necessary to drown in it. As such, I started this thread. The title is really all the instruction needed: just post an instance where another TB'er has done something cool/ nice/ etc, on your behalf. A Few Provisions:1. No sarcastic posts- Don't go around posting things you wish someone had done or posting a negative just to get a rise out of someone. 2. No competition- I don't want to hear, "Well, I did something cooler," or, "What they did wasn't as good!" This is not a contest, the cake is a lie, there's no cheese at the end of the tunnel. If someone does something nice, please don't spoil it. 3. No lying- Please don't make stuff up. As plain and simple as that. (More provisions will be added as I see fit)
Now that I've moved that stuff out of the way...
Here's the coolest thing a TB'er has done for me:
I started a thread a while back asking a few questions about DI boxes. I got some good answers from everybody, along with this message: Quote:

There was one small addendum though, I am now required by KFS to pay it forward, which I will do gladly when given the opportunity .

| | That's the way uh huh uh huh I like it.. | | Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Robbinsville, NJ | | | I had a TBer (J.D.B.) send me a pack of Rotosound strings for absolutely free a couple months ago. He called it a "Karma strike". It was with the understanding that I would pass on the good karma and do something nice and out of the blue for someone else down the line. I was impressed by that and I have since done so and have asked them to in turn, launch their own Karma Strike. Very cool. Once again - thanks J.D.B. - great idea!

I just joined TB this month, and there's such a wealth of information here. I get answers to my questions within minutes, and it's been totally fun (IMHO). this is my #1 online timewaster right now. I personally find some of the "troll" threads highly entertaining. As long as people keep within the rules, I don't see the harm.

My experience, no lies, no sarcasm or competition.
Read through it. Not one but several Talkbassers were responsible.
God Bless, Ray

Provided 2 fantastic hours of entertainment. It was completely unprovoked. Has offered some very pertinent bass-related and no-bass related advice, as well. Also unsolicited. He's a cool old man

All the guy's I've met in person, either because they are in Scotland or when they have been over here playing (too many to list!)
The knowledge that I've gained over the past 5-6 years, also, too many sources to name, many of whom are no longer about these parts
