I think it's pretty ridiculous. Yes, the officer was a little out of line in man-handling the kid and letting his temper get the best of him, but the kid and his friends were complete little ****s. What is with kids these days and their total lack of any kind of respect, or just decency for that matter? In EMS I've run into problems where I'm trying to treat a patient and these types of kids try to mess with the EMS crew

Also, as you can see, the officer said "if I find myself on you..." then it cuts off. the kid could be in more pooppoo

I can totally see where that cop is coming from. Look at all the other videos of skateboarders and stuff, they all act like little snot-nosed punks. He did get a little out of line too quickly, the kid is after all only 14, if he was 18 or older, then I could understand more.

I also love the end where he asks about the camera, and says "You got that camera on? Cause if I find myself on you----".

I see both of them as being in the wrong here. The kind is being a brat, but I think the officer is a little excessive in his tirade. Unfortunately, the kid will probably end up getting a fat check from the BPD and/or City of Baltimore.

Why can't kids just go ride in a park? Is it that hard? You're not supposed to ride on sidewalks and streets or on private/business property. Follow the rules and skate where you're allowed and that wouldn't happen. Simple as that.

The cop got angry and escalated the situation. You'd have to know the specific policy of the police department the cop's with in order to know precisely why he was suspended.

It's not whether the kid didn't deserver it or not, it's that the police officer needs people skills 101. Sure, the kid is an idiot. Sure, he deserved the tirade. Physically assaulting him though? Come on, I have plans on being a police officer some day and I hope I never act like that.

Another example of people being people. Cops are dumb people just like the rest of us. Of course, he was also also ass. I guess it serves the kid right for telling the cop he didn't have a dad, while the cop was busy being an ass.
