Hey, is anyone getting tired of the copyright issues on youtube. I get p'od every single time I try to watch a music video, and all I see is copyright messages.

I do think the way that Youtube goes about it is stupid. They should totally remove videos if they are going to remove them. I don't understand why they should still appear in searches if you aren't allowed to watch them. Such a waste of time

This is what you get when one major corporation buys something and turn's it into complete **** over a period of time.

In 2 years time youtube will be practically useless.

I can`t see why a band would even bother making a music video unless they plan on putting it on Youtube in today`s world. You`d think free promotion of your bands music in a venue that`ll allow millions to possibly stumble across your music would be a really good thing. Especially if you aren`t half bad looking lol.

Yeah it seems like almost every video you bookmark; you come back later, and there's the copyright message.

The thing is though, is that the videos are allowed if they are uploaded on the artists channel or the labels channel. Like Roadrunner records for example. All of their videos are completely working and intact. If enforcing copyright is the case then more bands/labels should definitely step it up from just having a myspace to youtube as well.

I think that whats bothering some big labels is that youtube is making profit from just hosting their "business", even though they are not being charged at all for the free advertising they are getting.

And that somehow they fear that if something like youtube would ever get to the development point where they could offer the streaming system at very fast dowload speed and at the same quality as the original, the potential customers wouldnt buy the real deal.

IMO.

+1. Not to mention that in many cases looser copyright enforcement spawns a lot of creativity. I'm reminded of the Winston's Amen, Brother.
