Cordless phone recommendations anyone?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking for one that has an answering machine as well. I'd prefer a single base unit, but I'll consider the two-base sets.

I just threw away a two-year old Panasonic. The extra base unit went bad after 4 months. Now the rest of that piece of crap is shot too. The whole time, the damn thing would lose its link to base. The phone before that last 8 months. Christ....I go through phones and coffee makers faster than my boxers.....

Absolutely no Panasonic.

Looking to spend no more than $100.

I've had a Uniden cordless w/answering machine for a while now. Still working fine. My only problem now is the battery is getting weak and doesn't last the whole day. It's actually a few years old, so I really can't complain.

Sam's has good deals or just wait for the periodic cordless phone deal to come up on woot.com.

We've had nothing but Panasonics for the past ten years with no problems except for the antennas being mysteriously chewed off by the dogs, they worked flawlessly even without antennas. We just picked up a new set with five handsets and a 6.0 GHz signal.

As far as anything else, I had a V-tech once that took a beating.

I recently got a DECT 6.0 system by Panasonic to replace a 2.4 GHz cordless phone that I'd bought years ago before Wi-Fi. The old phone did not get along with a wireless network.

I'm happy with this vtech one => click (~$100).

Granted, it's Pre-Cambrian technology (2.4GHz ), but I got it
for the mute-able speakerphone and 2-line capability.

Uniden makes awesome cordless phones. I have a 5.8 Ghz that has every feature imaginable and has the best signal strength and signal quality of any cordless phone I've ever used. I've never heard static through it at all.

I've been happy with this AT&T set that I got a few months ago (although my version has 5 handsets). Got it at Best Buy, but I've also seen them at Target. Excellent reception, excellent battery life:

I have an old vtech - still works quite well and a newer GE 5.8. The GE is not very good.

Thanks for the replies all.

I'm going with that AT&T unit that Vandelay suggested. The Amazon price is the best ($74.99) and free shipping.
