When I get them from the taco stand they're amazing, when I buy them at the store, they suck. Falling apart and rather dry. How do I fix this? I'm making fajitas for dinner guests tonight, help!

baked your own tortillas , is easy but if you are buying tortillas at the store , heated them up in hte microawe. put the tortillas in a plastic bag , that bags that you use to put fruit and veggies at the grocery store in. heathed them up for about 30 seconds, that will make the tortillas soft but once they get cold ( about 5 minutes ) will suck so heathed them just before serve the dinner.

Skip the microwave. You need a comal: http://www.mexgrocer.com/9115.html . You can also just use a skillet/pan.

Heat the comal/skillet up and just toss the tortillas on it. Flip them once during heating. You'll find the sweet spot...tastes vary.

Forgot to mention....serve them immediately so they are still hot/warm. Crucial. It should be your last step as people have their plates.

i agreed the comal is the best way unfortunally not all brands are good to use the comal, the microwave and the bag will make the tortillas sweat which will do tortillas soft. Try both and use whatever works for you remeber do not put more than 7 tortillas per bag

I just throw tortillas right on the burner on the stove. Flip em after about 10 seconds or so, and you're good to go.

Your best bet is to check the label and see where the tortillas are manufactured. I prefer to buy tortillas that have traveled less than 20 miles to get to the market. Maybe I'm lucky but there are a couple of places in my town that make great tortillas.

I'll also do this before microwave. Works great with a gas burner. This is also the best way to char chilis!
