Court rules evidence inadmissable in Barry Bonds case...

I REALLY wish this would all just die. Let's establish the fact that players juiced up during the 80's & early 90's and let things lie where they may.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/06/11/....html?hpt=Sbin

End the finger pointing, accusations with and without proof, and publicity seeking trials and call and end to this era.

And just to be clear on things...I live in the Bay Area and was never a fan of the Giants but reading the article it says steroids were not banned from baseball until 2003. The "alleged" steroid taking by Bonds happened in 2000-2001.

AM I MISSING SOMETHING IF IT WASN"T ILLEGAL AT THE TIME???? I know the charges were for perjury but jeez...

You are missing something. While performance enhancing drugs might not have been specifically banned from baseball in 2003, it's entirely possible that the substances Bonds allegedly took were, in fact, illegal in the United States.

Although I am pretty certain Barry Bonds is guilty as suspected, I am comfortable with him not being prosecuted. All of the big steroid stars like McGwire, Sosa, Clemens, etc. will have to live out the rest of lives with their career achievements doubted. For competitive athletes who were great, there is no greater punishment.

I agree, but for a different reason. I just think that crucifying 4 or 8 big names to satiate the public's bloodlust over the actions of what is probably a very uncomfortable percentage of the league is BS, plain and simple. Bonds is the poster boy because he's viewed as a jerk and he broke a few hallowed records, but that doesn't make him any worse that anyone else who used.

+ 1,000,000

Most people didn't like Bonds way before the PED thing came to light. That just gave a people a reason to pile on.

PED's WERE a fact of life in baseball in the 80's/90's -- we need to accept that and move on.

Yeah, look at the terrible slump A-Rod has been in since he was outed. He doesn't need a ban from Bud, his current struggles are sufficient.
